Hi Don,
No worries at all! This is my first time posting. I couldn’t get a photo as it was dusk and I’d taken my dog out for her evening “business”. What I saw was a very long, large lizard near the grassy edge (by the creek). Comparing my dogs length (50cm) to it I’d hazard a guess and say it was over an metre. A colleague thought it might have been a goanna. Apologies for not knowing the correct way to record this!

Hi @Jacoco, thanks for that. Nature Mapper is mainly photo-based. Do you have a photo we can help you identify the species from?

Nature Mapper records also have to be verified by a moderator. If you don't have a photo, can you tell us more about this sighting to identify the species? Forgive me for being candid, but because no goanna records have been previously recorded from that area, nor from deep within suburbs, I suspect you saw one of the other large lizard species. If we can no identify it, my job is to reject the record.
